Pioneering Agriculture is a research that is established with the aim of defining scenarios and pioneering actions to promote the development of local peri-urban areas through the instrument of agriculture. In fact, it may encourage the emergence of a new territory, a defense that allows interaction between environmental, settlement, social systems. the themes that we are discussing about ranging by the care and preservation of agricultural land to the testing of a new public space in the fringe of the city, where the limit with the contryside is more fragile and where neighborhood relations are more difficult to create.

Through these processes, the area can return to being a “common good”, respected, protected and enhanced.

The investigation began with our thesis, a study of some territories to the north of Bologna, included in the suburban strip adjacent to the ring road and the stretch of rail freight oriented. Potentially this is a model that could be exported to other contexts : a tangible method of approach to problems related to land use and research the potential of urban fringes.

This is only the first step in a quest that wants to continue to develop these topics and share them on this blog.

Pioneering Agriculture è una ricerca che nasce con lo scopo di definire scenari ed azioni pioneristiche di intervento per promuovere la valorizzazione territoriale delle aree periurbane attraverso lo strumento dell’agricoltura. Essa, infatti, può favorire la nascita di un nuovo territorio, un presidio che permetta l’interazione tra sistemi ambientali, insediativi e sociali.Le tematiche toccate spaziano dalla cura e la salvaguardia degli spazi agricoli fino alla sperimentazione di un nuovo spazio pubblico nelle aree marginali delle città, là dove il limite con la campagna è più fragile e dove le relazioni di vicinato sono più difficili da creare.

Attraverso questi processi il territorio può ritornare ad essere un “bene comune”, rispettato, tutelato e valorizzato.

L’indagine è iniziata con la nostra tesi di laurea, uno studio di alcuni territori, a nord della città di Bologna, compresi nella fascia periurbana attigua alla tangenziale e al tratto di ferrovia dedicata al trasporto merci. Si tratta di un modello potenzialmente esportabile in altri contesti: un metodo concreto di approccio alle problematiche connesse al consumo di suolo e che ricerca  le potenzialità delle frange urbane.

Tutto ciò è solo il primo passo di una ricerca che vuole continuare a sviluppare questi argomenti e poterli condividere su questo blog.
